Blue Oval was surprised by the new 2022 Ford E-Transit. Electric vehicles, mostly pickup trucks offer the option of a front trunk, or “frunk”. This is a practical way to add cargo space as electric vehicles don’t hide a powertrain underneath. E-Transit will not offer a trunk in the front. This is not surprising, considering the E-Transit van has a lot of cargo space. The spare tire location is another interesting feature of this electric van. This location is quite different from models that use conventional engines like gasoline or diesel. The spare tire is now placed in front of the front wheels instead of being mounted behind the rear wheels. Ford has made another sensible move, and the battery pack is located under the cargo area.
Engine
The 2022 Ford E-Transit will be slightly different from the regular Transit van. Due to its larger 67-kWh battery, the electric version will weigh in at 600 pounds more. The electric model has a heavy-duty semi-trailing-arm suspension, which is not available in the regular 3.5-liter V6. Ford offers three options for roof heights and three body lengths. There are three options for cargo, cutaway, and chassis cab configurations.
Blue Oval claims that the manufacturer will offer a payload rating of up to 3,800 pounds. The all-electric powertrain produces 266 horsepower and 317 pounds-feet of torque. This van can also provide 126 miles of all-electric driving range with a single charge. AC and DC fast charging options for your van are available. You can plug it into both 120-volt or 240-volt outlets. Ford Charge Station can charge E-Transit vans in as little as eight hours.
Redesign
The new 2022 Ford E-Transit design will be very similar to the original concept. The concept and production models will not differ in any significant way. The cargo van will feature a hexagonal grille and modern LED headlights. Optional power-sliding doors are available in the base trim. E-Transit will have a distinctive boxy shape and will measure 217.8 inches in length.

2022 Ford E–Transit Price and Release Date
Although the all-new 2022 Ford E-Transit will be priced at $45,000, some reports predict a slightly lower cost. Ford will offer a 100,000-mile, eight-year warranty. Production will start at the Ford Kansas City Plant. Sales will start in 2021, possibly in November.
