2022 Ranger PHEV Redesign
The new 2022 Ford Ranger PHEV was spotted months ago. The latest photos show that the pickup’s mid-size will see many changes. Two chrome bars are larger than ever on the front fascia. The rectangular grille is still present, which is a good thing. The front looks more like the F-150’s front fascia. The C-shaped fog lights and headlights look upright.

The chrome bumper is striking and gives the hood a more aggressive look. Two vertical elements are added to the front bumper. The Ranger will still look blocky but the styling is modern. Boxier fender flares can be seen too. The emblem is higher up and has larger RANGER letters on the tailgate.
Interior
The interior of the 2022 Ford Ranger PHEV will be closer to the Ford Everest SUV. Ranger’s interior may differ slightly. The new SYNC4 infotainment technology will be available on the mid-size pickup. Ranger will also have the same touchscreen as F-150 pickup trucks. The 12.8-inch unit has a tablet-like appearance. The media center is extremely modern and comes with a 10.25-inch digital cluster of instruments. The new 2022 Ranger Ranger PHEV will feature new upholstery, new air vent shapes, and additional driver-assistance features. Super Crew Cab, which can accommodate five people, is still available.
Engine
Although details about the powertrain are still unknown, Ford is expected to pair its turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine of 2.5 liters with at least one electric motor to make the Ranger PHEV. Similar configurations are already found in the Escape PHEV, which produces 167kW of power with an EV-only range greater than 50km. The Range will get a revamped lineup that includes a 130kW/420Nm single-turbo four-cylinder diesel, 157kW/500Nm twin turbo diesel, and a pair of V6 engines. The flagship engine packs 230kW/540Nm.
Hybrid System
The T6 body-on-frame architecture will be used for the upcoming Ford Ranger PHEV 2022. This platform is capable of accommodating hybrid setups, and it also underpins the new Ford Everest. Ford intends to create a hybrid system that uses the EcoBoost engine of 2.3-liter. This output, when combined with the electric motors and battery pack should produce around 500 lbft and 362 horsepower. Ford will also offer a 10-speed automatic transmission. Ranger PHEV will be available in the new Explorer or Escape models with 3.0-liter and 2.5 liters PHEV configurations. The diesel version will be available for models in Australia and Europe, but not for the United States. We are still waiting on the exact engine specifications.
