2023 Ford Escape Review

Interior

The new 2023 Ford Escape is a small and modern SUV that offers a spacious interior. Like the previous model, this new model is a 2-row vehicle. The dashboard is simple but logically laid out. In the SEL model, the manufacturer also included a fold-down center armrest. The entry-level model comes with all the features you would expect from an SUV at this price. The vehicle features cloth upholstery, front bucket seating, a 6-speaker stereo, and the new SYNC4 infotainment program. Escape comes with Bluetooth, voice recognition, and in-vehicle WiFi for up to 10 devices. The hybrid can be combined with the Titanium trim to unlock more features. This is the premium version with a superior sound system and additional safety aids. It also has more sturdy materials.

Exterior

The new 2023 Ford Escape will get minor cosmetic updates after a recent redesign. The compact SUV is far more attractive than the previous Ford models. This is due to its departure from the earlier, boxy Ford compact SUV. It looks nearly identical to the new Ford Focus. The front fascia is the focal point of Ford’s vehicles. It has a distinctive appearance, as with almost every Ford. Ford claims that the oval-shaped front fascia makes aerodynamics more efficient. Roof racks also have a low profile, which reduces wind resistance. Manufacturers could surprise us with new exterior colors and optional wheels for higher trim levels.

Engine

There are four engine options for the 2023 Ford Escape. The 1.5-liter EcoBoost turbocharged gasoline engine is the first option. This drivetrain produces 180 horsepower and 177 lb. ft of torque. The standard for the S, SE, and SEL models is 1.5-liter. Also, this engine includes a cylinder-deactivation program, that will run on two cylinders and improve fuel economy numbers. A 2.0-liter 4-cylinder EcoBoost turbo gasoline engine mill produces 250 horsepower and 275 lbft. This powerplant comes standard on Titanium, and optional on SEL. The gasoline models come with 8-speed automatic transmission.

The 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbo is required to use the shift paddles. An electronically controlled continuously variable transmission is used for the Escape Hybrid and PHEV versions. FWD is available as an option on all 1.5-liter, hybrid, and PHEV models. AWD will be offered for the 2.0-liter gasoline models, but it is optional for hybrid and 1.5-liter models.
