Engine
There are four engine options for the 2023 Ford Escape. The 1.5-liter EcoBoost turbocharged gasoline engine is the first option. This drivetrain produces 180 horsepower and 177 lb. ft of torque. The standard for the S, SE, and SEL models is 1.5-liter. Also, this engine includes a cylinder-deactivation program, that will run on two cylinders and improve fuel economy numbers. A 2.0-liter 4-cylinder EcoBoost turbo gasoline engine mill produces 250 horsepower and 275 lbft. This powerplant comes standard on Titanium, and optional on SEL. The gasoline models come with 8-speed automatic transmission.

The 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbo is required to use the shift paddles. An electronically controlled continuously variable transmission is used for the Escape Hybrid and PHEV versions.
