Changes

The EcoBoost Premium comes with a greater number of features. Both trims include a 2.3L Ecoboost motor and an RWD drivetrain. Unfortunately, AWD has never been an option on Mustang models. Ford Mustang Convertible owners have the option to add optional extras and accessories to make their vehicle even more personal.

2022 Ford Mustang will be available with the 2021 engine, a 2.3L Ecoboost Inline-4 that produces 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft. Ford Mustang GT convertible has a 5.0L naturally-aspirated V8 engine which produces 460 horsepower and 420 lbft. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission that directs all power to the rear wheels. You can also choose a 10-speed manual transmission with paddle shifters mounted on your steering wheel. It has McPherson Strut front suspension and an independent rear suspension. The ride quality is excellent. You can also choose a Magneride damping option to improve ride quality.

2022 Mustang Convertible Specs

The 2022 Ford Mustang convertible can do the 0-60 sprint within 5.6 seconds. With the automatic transmission, this time is reduced significantly. Ford Mustang convertible will run the quarter-mile standing in 14.1 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 155 mph. The Ford Mustang Convertible is the most powerful, with 310 horsepower. However, the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible has 275 horsepower and can do the 0-60 sprint in 0.2 seconds less. The BMW 2-Series produces 248 horsepower and sets the fastest time to 0-60 at 5.3 seconds. It is followed by the Mazda Mazda MX-5, which has the lowest power and slowest time to 0-60 at 5.7 seconds.

Fuel Economy

The 2022 Ford Mustang Convertible model is a carryover model. It will not have any mechanical changes from the 2021 model year. The 2021 model’s fuel economy will be carried forward into the following year. The 2022 Ford Mustang will achieve 20 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. It will also have a combined fuel economy of 23 mpg. Ford Mustang Convertible’s fuel tank capacity is 16 gallons. This gives it a combined mileage of 368 miles. The Camaro has a larger fuel tank which allows for more range. Both the BMW 2 series (and MX-5 Miata) offer higher mpg and have a smaller fuel tank, which gives them a comparable driving range to Ford Mustang Convertible.

Interior

The 2022 Ford Mustang is a carryover model. It will retain all features and specifications of the 2021 model. Convertible Mustangs come with 2+2 seating options. The seats in the front are manually adjustable and can be upholstered with a cloth. EcoBoost Premium trim includes power-adjustable front rows with heated and cooling functions. It will also include leather upholstery.

Ecoboost Premium trims have more features than the base EcoBoost trim. The base trim has automatic air conditioning. The Premium trim adds dual-zone air-conditioning and ambient lighting. 2022 Mustang Convertible’s trunk capacity is 11.4 cubic feet. This is 2.1 cu. ft. It is smaller than the standard Ford Mustang. The Mustang Convertible has 2 more seats than the Mazda MX-5 Miata, which is a disadvantage in comparison to the competition. Although the front row legroom is great, it is not as generous as the BMW 2 Series. The 2022 Ford Mustang Convertible will have the same infotainment system as the 2021 model year.

You also have the option of wheel sizes up to 20 inches, racing stripes, hood strips, 10 color options, and a few accessories. You have the option to change the color options.

The 2022 Mustang Convertible measures 189.5 inches in length, is 0.6 inches longer than the Camaro Convertible, and 14.2 inches longer than the BMW 2-Series Convertible. It also has 34.8 inches more than the Mazda MX-5 Miata. The Mustang’s wheelbase is smaller than that of the Camaro. The MX-5 Miata, which is 6 inches shorter than Mustang Convertible, is also the shortest of all 48.6-inch tall vehicles.

Safety

The Ford Mustang Convertible 2022 will be built on the same platform as the 2021 Mustang Convertible. We can use the safety ratings to help us understand the 2022 model as it is still in development. Although the NHTSA hasn’t tested the convertible, the coupe model received a five-star overall rating. The 2021 Mustang Convertible received an overall “good” safety rating from the IIHS. Each 2022 Mustang Convertible has the same safety features. Six standard airbags are included, including a driver’s knee airbag, an SOS pre-crash alert system, a tire pressure monitoring system, and a driver’s side knee airbag. Ford’s Safe and Smart Package is available for the Mustang. It includes pre-collision assistance, automatic emergency brake, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control.

2022 Ford Mustang Convertible Release Date & Price
